And on a week day, no less!
This morning I got a happy surprise: my honey made me a hefty breakfast to get the day moving in the right direction (of course, I was running so late that I had to drink my coffee and maneuver my bacon, egg, and cheese on wheat toast while steering through a crowd of school children; who for some reason stand in the middle of the street to wait for their bus).
E was off from work today because he had to journey back to Cumberland, Maryland to make an appearance in traffic court. A day off, mixed with some gentle nudging from me, prompted him to not only scramble eggs but to fry some bacon, too! I love him! Best breakfast ever!
Trust me, I needed it. I've entered this stage in my career where I'm pretty much questioning everything. Do I really want to sink myself in to more debt getting a graduate degree that will guarantee my climb in to the 40k bracket (I wish I were joking) or should I take this opportunity to start over new and find something that not only keeps my interest but pays. So far.....I'm leaning towards the latter.
I'm attending an open house this Thursday at the university of Baltimore to see what my options would be. I've been talking it over with some friends and family and the response has been mixed. Why go back to school to pursue a degree in a totally different field, when you've already got 5 years where you are and a degree in that would only take you a couple of years? Stay safe, stay put!
Stay safe, stay put (read: stay bored, stay broke) isn't doing it for me. Without my Masters , I'm pretty much stuck and if I'm gonna sink down the loot, it's got to be worth while.
So wish me luck at the open house! We'll see what happens....
