Week 3, Number 7.....The iPod Catch

I caught the iPod bug quite a while ago. I got my first one (1st Generation) back when they were HUGE (and by "huge," I mean several ounces). The thing could never maintain a charge and the screen ended up getting pretty beat up. I wasn't all that impressed.

But then came the Nano! It was my birthday and I had just started LATI. I just had to have it. It was pretty short lived though, because not less than a month or so after I got mine the 5th Generation, iPod Video made it's debut!

While I know that this whole thing is just a rip-off, it's really hard to not want one. And luckily, Apple has made getting them a lot easier (less expensive). My first iPod cost about $400.00--the newer models are literally a fraction of that! Apple even sells discounted refurbished ipods. Which answers the question: "where do old ipods go to retire?"

I've started my own "process" for the retiring of iPods: I only buy the refurbished ones (why pay full price, if you don't have to?) and then I give my old one to my youngest brother; who eventually loses them!

It has it's kinks, but at least it's a process!

I just got an MP3 player called a Sansa... it goes with a Rhapsody account and I love it. I think you pay 14.95 for the account and you can download all these full legnth cd's. You can't burn them, just listen to them but it is like a lending library and you can try new music and see what you like. If you hate it (take that, Justin Timberlake!) you can delete it and never listen to it again. I have recently downloaded the new Rufus Wainwright and the new Erasure, among others. But I also have an Ipod.. it is a heavy thing but I keep it in the car because my car stereo has a cord. So much music, so little time.

These are the rules: Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, and then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged, and asking them to read your blog.

1. I (used) to collect tacky snowglobes. I have about 125.
2. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip.
3. I have a tattoo and am trying to design my second one. My first one was a midlife crisis tattoo.
4. I used to work with Howard Stern.
5. I want a pug and if I ever get one I'm going to name him Rex.
6. I really, really, really want the Wii.
7. I am really, really, really having a hard time thinking of 8 things that I can post without getting in trouble.
8. I honestly feel that if no one sees you eat something, then the calories don't count.

So you have been tagged. You know the rules. Have fun.
